Keyboard Shortcuts
Many of the frequent things you do on a computer can require clicking in several different places to achieve one simple function. Here is a list of some shortcuts that may help improve your experience.
To close a window/program
Hold down the Alt key and tap F4
To change between windows/programs
Hold down the Alt key and tap the Tab key
(keep pressing Tab to cycle round all programs)
To open Windows Explorer
Hold the Windows key and press E
To make the current window fill the screen
Press, in sequence, Alt, space,then X
To show the desktop
Hold down the windows kay and tap D
repeat to go back
To copy whatever you have selected
Hold down Ctrl and press C
To cut whatever you have selected
Hold down Ctrl and press X
To paste whatever you have copied or cut
Hold down Ctrl and press V
To select multiple items
Hold down Ctrl and click on the stuff you want
particularly usefull when selecting specific files or folders to copy
To Save a document
Hold down Ctrl and press S
To Print a document
Hold down Ctrl and press P
To zoom in or out on most web browsers
Press the + or - keys
To find text within a document
Hold down Ctrl and press F
