About Us
So your computer isn't running that badly and you want to know more about us? Well here goes.
The Webworks is owned and staffed by Larry, Becca and me (Dave).
Larry has a background in both mechanical and electrical engineering and is a genius who can fix almost anything. After spending more years than he will allow me to mention in many roles ranging from an MOT tester to nightclub DJ and always having a fascination in computers he was one of the founders of The Webworks, back in November 1998.
I got my first computer for Christmas when I was nine and had it programed to play Jingle Bells before the end of the day. Since then I too have had a varied career from bingo caller to IT manager for a large marketing firm.
Becca is our new team member who we employed to help us cope with our ever increasing volume of work and to dilute the testosterone and nerdiness. Ok the testosterone is diluted but it turns out that she is a gaming guru. So, sorry folks the nerd factor has gone up. on a more positive note the range of our expertise has widened.
I became friends with Larry a few years ago and in 2007 quit working for others and bought half of the business. I realise this sounds like we are a pair nerds, we're not. We are both family guys, Larry with a son and a daughter and me with four daughters. We are just passionate about fixing things and fascinated with computers, so it is perfect that we should run a computer shop!
Larry has now gone into semi-retirement and his permanent home is now in Cornwall. He will still be working a few days each week in the shop for the foreseeable future.
